The Doulton Ultra Carb ceramic are third party validated to remove bacteria such as ecoli, vibrio cholera, shigella, salmonella typhi, klebsiella terrigena, cryptosporidium and giardia.
The Ultra Carb ceramics also provides carbon filtration and ion exchange media. These additional filtration steps remove high levels of chlorine, organics, chemicals, lead and other heavy metals.
